Luck And Strange, by David Gilmour (Review)
Hi, and welcome to our weekly music post!
For the first post, I would like to talk about the last David Gilmour's album "Luck And Strange".
I was really impressed with this album as I imagined that Gilmour would choose to release something a little more like songs like "Yes, I have Ghost," that is, with a not too articulate rhythm and a not too complex instrumental part. Instead, I found Luck and Strange to be an excellent album in all respects. Of course I start with the lyrics, which I really appreciated, especially the one in the song "Between Two Points," which was done with his daughter, Romany Gilmour. An ode to overcoming our difficulties by letting go of those who want to hurt us! Regarding stylistic innovations, I certainly cannot fail to mention "Dark And Velvet Nights," which has precisely a very innovative tone and also different from the rest of Gilmour's work. Regarding solos, the song that impressed me the most was "Scattered," which has a killer final solo. So yes, this is a very good album on all counts and one that also evokes some nostalgia for Rick Wright. In fact, in many songs you can find his signature sound and keyboard effects! I also recommend that you check out the videos, which are impeccably made in my opinion. I think that's enough! Thanks for reading, and let me know what you think in the comments, I am very curious about your opinions!
